Adecco is partnering with a client in Ferndale, NY, and is currently seeking a production associate. Location: Ferndale, NY Shift: Monday u2013 Friday, 2:30 PM u2013 11:00 PM Pay Rate: $16.00/hr Position Summary The Extruder/Mixer Operator plays a key role in the production process by preparing mixes, operating extrusion equipment, and ensuring consistent, high-quality products. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to food safety standards, and the ability to work effectively with production teams, supervisors, and quality assurance staff. Responsibilities + Operate and monitor extruder equipment to ensure proper size, weight, and consistency of products. + Use a forklift to transport extruder hoppers between mixing and extrusion areas. + Check and adjust machinery as needed to maintain product quality according to specifications. + Assist in oven operations, monitoring time and temperature to ensure uniform baking results. + Prepare batches by measuring and combining raw materials according to recipes and mixing instructions. + Complete accurate documentation including batch sheets and production logs. + Maintain proper housekeeping by cleaning and sanitizing equipment, tools, and work areas during and after production. + Adhere to GMP, HACCP, Allergen, SQF , and other regulatory and company safety/quality standards. + Collaborate with mixer operators, supervisors, and QA teams to maintain consistent product flow. + Control waste and follow safe material handling practices. + Perform additional production or support duties as assigned. Requirements + Ability to read and interpret formulas, recipes, and written instructions. + Must be able to accurately measure ingredients in pounds, ounces, gallons, grams, and cups. + Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, counting). + Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 lbs unassisted. + Manual dexterity and ability to stand for extended periods. + Experience using mechanical, conventional, or electronic scales. + Forklift certification or experience preferred. + Knowledge of food safety standards (GMP, HACCP, SQF) strongly desired. + Flexibility to assist in other production areas when needed.
