The goal is for each intern to develop proper knowledge and understanding of electrical construction methods, materials and sequences. With supervised practice, the intern will assist the Area Supervisor and/or the Superintendent in the field with coordination and distribution of information required to construct the project on time, within budget and to quality standards.What you'll learn with us:Assist in managing and developing the construction scheduleAssist in the preparation and maintenance of basic project recordkeeping and correspondence functions including daily and weekly reports, photographs, requests for information (RFIs), and memorandumsAssistincompiling,processing,andconfirmingdailylabortimesheetsAssistinginthepreparationofJobHazardAnalysis(JHA’s)Assist in planning,scheduling,andcoordinatingworkgroupsonthejobsite and supervising field operationsAssist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervisionAssisting in field surveying and work layout supportAssist the Superintendent with obtaining information and approvals for processing shop drawings and submittalsProviding field support and supervise subcontractor operationsOrder and schedule materialdeliveries, verifying shipment and documentationParticipateinjobsitesafetyreviews,toolboxmeetings,masssafetymeetings,andsafety trainingAssist Superintendent with interpreting plans, performing material takeoffs from drawings, specifications and other contract documentsMonitorcostcontrol,quality,productivityandsafetyonprojectsDisseminate Construction information to appropriate partiesMonitor field variations and keep the Project Superintendent informed of any changesUphold safe working conditions and preventative safety measures and ensure compliance and enforcement of safety program at all timesMaintainspositiveworkingenvironmentforentiresiteteamOther duties as assigned that are not included, but are within the context of duties defineBring your passion, here's what’s needed:Must be a sophomore or junior and be actively enrolled in a four-year bachelor's degree program with at least two (2) years of education and demonstrate interest in the electrical construction industryAbility to relocate to DFW for the duration of the programHold a strong academic recordExcellent communication & written communication skillsCollaboration and organizational skillsGood computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programsExhibits professionalism, attention to detail and desire to work in a team environmentBasic knowledge ofcommercialbuildingconstructionactivitiesAbilitytointeract and collaboratewithdiversegroupsofpeopleCapable of identifying problems and recommending corrective actionsStrong ability to demonstrate leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate well both verbally and in writingValiddriver’slicense and reliable transportationMust be able to obtain a Texas Electrical Apprentice LicenseEmployment is subject to background check and drug screen.
