The Bright Ceramics Technology group (BCT) is focused on developing, applying, and commercializing a unique technology platform based upon advanced materials. They develop and manufacture cutting-edge components and systems. BCT has an immediate opening for a Sr. Project Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate has an engineering background with skills in mechanical systems, system integration, aerospace, and development/fabrication. The Sr. Project Manager position will utilize their knowledge of engineering to interact with the technical and management teams in managing all phases of programs from inception through delivery.The position will work on-site in the Palo Alto, CA office.Primary interface with the customer on assigned programsProject management such as budget, managing costs, forecasts, schedule, resources, statements of work, and interaction with the client. This will be especially important with the integration of primary and sub-systems that when assembled can perform to desired capabilities in specific environments.Ensure a continuous line of communication is kept open with the customer representatives to maintain a high level of program status awareness, provide timely recognition and resolution of problems, prevent surprises, and ensure the highest possible level of customer satisfactionInterface with technical team to support the specifications, design, engineering, resources, fabrication and efforts on the program. Engineering tasks will be involved to the extent they support the development of systemsMonitor, update, and report on program technical performance, cost, and schedule statusBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree a plus.7+ years of experience in hardware design/development/integration/fabrication in a related technical industry.Candidate must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance.Experience with aviation system integration that includes launch systems, EMS survivability, avionics, navigation, signature management, operations and deployability.Prior program management experience requiredExperience in analysis, testing and documentation is a plusDesired Skills:Strong interpersonal and written communication skillsThe salary range is: $127,570-$169,030. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
