Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead and manage the accounting operations of our company in San Rafael, California. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining data integrity, and implementing effective internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills and financial expertise to support organizational growth and strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee the accounting departmentu2019s daily operations, including data entry, reconciliation, and financial reporting across income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow. u2022 Develop and maintain documented accounting policies and procedures, while implementing controls to mitigate risks such as credit, treasury, and inventory. u2022 Evaluate current accounting systems and lead the selection and implementation of improved systems when necessary. u2022 Manage the preparation of financial reports, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and alignment with budget guidelines. u2022 Establish and analyze benchmarks to measure company performance, focusing on inventory, revenue, and profitability metrics. u2022 Lead the creation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing regular updates to management on budget variances. u2022 Conduct financial analysis with a focus on inventory, cash flow, treasury management, and profitability. u2022 Collaborate with external auditors by providing necessary documentation and information for annual audits and tax reviews. u2022 Present comprehensive financial reviews and insights to management and board members to aid strategic decision-making. u2022 Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government regulations. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or Business Administration is required. u2022 A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in accounting or financial management. u2022 Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred. u2022 Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. u2022 Exceptional management and supervisory abilities. u2022 Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. u2022 Demonstrated organizational and time management capabilities. u2022 Expertise in financial analysis, standard cost accounting, and inventory management.
