Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an experienced Data Entry Clerk to join our team. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to contribute to efficient financial operations. The ideal candidate will excel in managing invoices, processing payments promptly, and ensuring compliance with company policies. Responsibilities: u2022 Review and verify invoices for accuracy and proper authorization before processing. u2022 Ensure timely payment of invoices through checks, wire transfers, or other approved methods. u2022 Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to confirm correct billing and avoid duplicate payments. u2022 Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions for auditing and reporting purposes. u2022 Prepare and execute regular check runs to support payment schedules. u2022 Code invoices appropriately and ensure they align with company accounting protocols. u2022 Communicate with vendors to address discrepancies or resolve payment issues. u2022 Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable. u2022 Collaborate with team members to improve efficiency in payment processing. u2022 Monitor accounts payable aging reports and follow up on overdue items. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or a related role. u2022 Proficiency in invoice processing, coding, and payment scheduling. u2022 Familiarity with check runs and wire transfer procedures. u2022 Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Excellent communication skills for interacting with vendors and team members. u2022 Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. u2022 Knowledge of accounting principles and practices. u2022 Competence in using accounting software and tools.
