Maintenance/Janitorial Team Member Department: Operations Reports To: General Manager or Shift Manager Position Summary The Maintenance/Janitorial Team Member plays a critical role in ensuring the restaurant is clean, safe, and welcoming at all times. This position is fully accountable for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of the restaurant, inside and out. Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance Key Responsibilities An example of SOME of the Daily Cleaning Tasks (Required Every Day) u00b7 Clean and sanitize restrooms (toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors, soap dispensers, etc.) u00b7 Sweep, mop, and disinfect all floors in dining room, kitchen, and restrooms u00b7 Empty and sanitize trash cans inside and outside the restaurant u00b7 Clean all glass doors and windows (interior and exterior) u00b7 Wipe down high-touch surfaces such as counters, door handles, railings, kiosks, and drink stations u00b7 Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, drink bar, and condiment stations u00b7 Ensure parking lot, sidewalks, and drive-thru lane are free of trash and debris u00b7 Clean and restock janitorial supplies (toilet paper, soap, sanitizer, towels) An example of SOME of the Weekly Cleaning Tasks u00b7 Deep clean behind and underneath kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, etc.) u00b7 Filter fryers u00b7 Deep detail clean grills u00b7 Power wash trash corral and exterior entrances u00b7 Dust and wipe down baseboards, vents, and light fixtures u00b7 Deep clean dining area furniture and booths u00b7 Clean and descale soda and ice machines An example of SOME of the Monthly Cleaning Tasks u00b7 Clean ceilings and ceiling vents u00b7 Boil out fryers u00b7 Strip and wax kitchen floors (if applicable) u00b7 Wash kitchen walls and storage areas u00b7 Detail clean all stainless-steel surfaces u00b7 Remove and clean light fixtures (where appropriate) u00b7 Deep clean walk-in coolers and freezers Additional Responsibilities u00b7 Complete assigned checklists and cleaning logs accurately and on time u00b7 Perform minor preventative maintenance and notify management of needed repairs u00b7 Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures according to McDonald's policies u00b7 Safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment according to training and safety guidelines u00b7 Ensure all cleaning tools and equipment are maintained and stored properly u00b7 Assist with unloading deliveries and organizing storage areas, as needed Qualifications u00b7 Must be 18 years or older (preferred) u00b7 Ability to work independently and follow a detailed cleaning schedule u00b7 Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability u00b7 Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, reach, and stand for extended periods u00b7 Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred, but not required Success in This Role Means: u00b7 You treat cleanliness as your top priority and take ownership of the appearance of the restaurant. u00b7 You consistently meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning goals. u00b7 You help create a safe and welcoming environment for guests and crew alike. u00b7 You are proactive in identifying and solving cleanliness or maintenance issues.
