Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflightThis role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for supporting and representing the Electrical Harness Design team at our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration floor. This is a hands-on position that will involve you in all aspects of engineering, design, fabrication, installation and test. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is requiredResponsibilities:Answer all design related questions coming from our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.Lead and coordinate the selection of avionics components and hardware, such as connectors, backshells, cable and wire, fasteners, bonding materials.Creation of Non-Conformances (NC) items in our internal system.Help with the creation of Non-Conformances (NC) dispositions.Create/update redline drawings for the 2D electrical harness drawings, 3D electrical harness installation drawings, hardware and units installation drawings.Release Redline drawings in Windchill.Lead and coordinate any improvement initiatives associated to increase rate, productivity, and efficiency at our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.Lead, coordinate and identify any initiatives and updates required in the design engineering to facilitate automation during Avionics Installation.Lead and coordinate process updates and improvements based on our Rocket Manufacturing and Integration Floor.Provide technical guidance for Avionics Installation.Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses, Avionics LRUs and Avionics hardware.Report on activity schedule and technical status.Identify opportunities for technical improvements.Qualifications:B.S. degree or higher in Electrical or an appropriate engineering field.7+ years of experience designing Avionics/Electrical Harnesses for the Aerospace industry.10+ years of experience supporting manufacturing/Installation of Wire Harnesses or Avionics LRUs for the Aerospace industry.Experience of harness fabrication and installation processes.Experience of Avionics LRUs fabrication and installation processes.Experience of Avionics Hardware fabrication and installation processes.Experience with Creo and Windchill and Routed System Designer (RSD).Understanding and application of wire derating analysis.Knowledgeable with existing applicable harness standards: IPC/WHMA-A-620A, NASA-STD-8739.4Strong electrical/mechanical design and integration skills using 3-D CAD software.Knowledgeable on 6 sigma principles.Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusionDesired
