Job Description:Title: Housing Stabilization Supervisor (FT)Division: Permanent Supportive HousingOT Status: ExemptReports to: Director of Supportive ServicesRevision date: New 8/14/25Management Level / Supervises: Manager / Housing Stabilization SpecialistJob Classification: 2 - ProfessionalJob Family Group: Clinical/ Service CoordinationPURPOSEAccording to prescribed policies and procedures of the organization including all applicable state, federal and accreditation regulations and reporting to the Director of Supportive Services, the Housing Stabilization Supervisor is a role that combines leadership responsibilities with direct client interaction, focusing on helping individuals and families secure and maintain stable housing. This position involves not only providing direct services to clients but also supervising and supporting a team of Housing Stabilization Specialists. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, and referral-based caseload management, the Housing Stabilization Specialist Team Lead uses a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to address tenancy-related barriers and promote long-term housing success.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSClient Support:Assessing tenant needs and developing a comprehensive understanding of each resident's unique situation by connecting them with resources to address barriers to housing stabilityProvide individualized support to residents struggling with lease compliance, including late rent, hoarding/clutter, unauthorized guests, or disruptive behaviors.Coach and assist residents with developing and maintaining housekeeping routines, including cleaning, organizing, trash disposal, and basic home safety.Collaborate with residents and staff to develop and implement Housing Retention Plans, including Behavioral Agreements, Housekeeping Checklists, and Payment Plans.Conduct routine in-unit wellness visits and inspections to assess tenancy health and reinforce housing expectations.Offer hands-on support with life skills that promote successful tenancy (e.g., budgeting, paying rent online, neighbor relations, understanding lease terms).Use motivational interviewing and harm reduction techniques to engage residents in addressing behaviors that may jeopardize housing.Provide education about tenant rights and responsibilities under Fair Housing and lease agreementsIdentifying and cultivating relationships with community resources, and other stakeholders to expand support services for clients.Team Support and Development:Supervise and evaluate direct reports in accordance with agency policies and procedures.Provides guidance, and Clear Pathe training orientation, and support to a team of Housing Stabilization Specialists, including caseload management, performance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to agency policy and procedures.Coordinate and communicate regularly with Case Managers, Clinical staff, and external partners to ensure cohesive support for residents.Participate in staff meetings, blended management meetings, case conferencing, and professional development trainingContribute to a team culture grounded in trauma-informed care, equity, and Housing First principles.Coordinate training for staff with contracted specialists in various fields, such as hoarding behavior, and substance use disorder management to provide in-depth knowledge to staff members.Collaboration with Property ManagementServe as a liaison between residents and property management to resolve tenancy concerns and mediate conflicts for identified residents.Attend move-in orientations, lease reviews, and tenant meetings as needed.Participate in eviction prevention meetings; and coordinate interventions in response to lease violations or complaints.
