Description We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Controller to join a dynamic start-up based in Phoenix, Arizona. In this role, you will lead and oversee critical accounting functions across multiple operating locations, ensuring financial accuracy and driving process improvements. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee key accounting functions, including accounts payable, billing, collections, fleet management, revenue recognition, and internal controls. u2022 Conduct daily reviews of invoice accuracy, commission validation, and pricing compliance to maintain financial integrity. u2022 Support multi-location operations through reconciliations, compliance reporting, and audit preparation. u2022 Collaborate with general managers and leadership to identify and implement corrective actions and process improvements. u2022 Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to guide executive decision-making. u2022 Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess financial performance across locations. u2022 Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audits to uphold organizational standards. u2022 Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering growth and enhancing team productivity. u2022 Identify and implement system or workflow enhancements to streamline accounting operations. Requirements u2022 Bacheloru2019s degree in Accounting or a related field; advanced certifications are a plus. u2022 Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounting, with expertise in multi-state and multi-location operations. u2022 Proficiency in Excel and accounting software; experience with Sage Intacct is preferred. u2022 Demonstrated leadership abilities, including mentoring and developing team members. u2022 Strong problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail. u2022 Proven ability to implement and manage internal controls and process improvements. u2022 Familiarity with compliance reporting and audit preparation. u2022 Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
