DEA's Denver, CO office is seeking a Senior Survey Crew Chief. This position is for an experienced Crew Chief who can work autonomously and remotely and lead a field crew performing boundary, topography, ALTA, right of way, and construction surveys for public and private clients on large energy and transportation projects. The applicant must be able to work remotely and be willing and able for some travel. Responsibilities include the operation and maintenance of a survey truck, UTV and trailer, and survey instruments and associated equipment. The applicant will be responsible for keeping accurate field notes, data collection, performing field calculations, working with DEA staff and interfacing with landowners and clients. The applicant may be responsible for directing and leading field survey crew members in the performance of their duties, mentoring, and coaching them to advance within the survey profession as their individual abili Position Responsibilities include but not limited to: Must have good communication skills and be able to relay complex information to project managers and clients and stakeholders. Must have an understanding of issues pertaining to access of private land and be respectful of private landowners. Must have some understanding and experience with the Rectangular Survey System of the PLSS States and have experience in searching for PLSS monuments. Must be proficient with the operation and maintenance of Trimble GPS, total stations, and data collectors and other various measuring instruments Must be proficient with electronic data collection systems and processes; must be able to download and review data files and perform complex survey computations as part of performing field surveying tasks.) Must thoroughly inspect and check field data deliverables for accuracy and correctness; Deliverables include field note sheets, electronic data collection files, computation sheets Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license Must make safety the highest priority and follow DEA's safety protocols. Basic Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years of field experience in boundary and construction surveying High School diploma or equivalent required Must be able to travel out of town for up to a week at a time Preferred Qualifications: L.S.I.T.
