As our team continues to grow, we are currently looking to hire additional Teams Leads. This role is On Site, and all candidates must reside in the United States . Partnering with industry leaders like Waymo, weu2019re redefining autonomous fleet management and driving the optimization of AV services About The Role As the Safety and Compliance Officer, one will work closely with other members of the autonomous driving validation operations to institute a culture of safety and compliance, supported by a robust strategy, systems and processes for ensuring the highest levels of safety and compliance across our Operations. These will at all times support and be aligned with the Gold Standards at Safety and processes of our partner organization. Breathing the best in class safety practices, methodologies, automation and simplification to make it work on the ground providing best experience to the employees and communities where we drive. Key Expectations from the Role u25cf Establishing a strategy and protocols to ensure compliance with DOT, Non DOT regulatory and partner safety and compliance standards and mitigate operational risks. u25cf Evaluate the current processes, practices and identify the risks and opportunities to transform into best in class u25cf Collaborate with multi-functional teams to establish and maintain QMS, ISO, EHS quality assurance processes, including regular audits, inspections, and assessments to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions. u25cf Define the processes, make them measurable and establish qualitative and quantitative outcomes u25cf Serve as a safety advocate within the organization, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability among employees and stakeholders through training, communication, and continuous improvement initiatives. u25cf Conduct analysis of safety data and performance metrics to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance safety outcomes and reduce incidents. u25cf Focus on the emerging trends, technologies, and regulatory changes in the market, and overlay them onto the Operations safety landscape, and provide strategic guidance and recommendations to senior management to ensure compliance and maintain a competitive edge. u25cf Be a liaison with regulatory agencies, industry associations, and other internal & external stakeholders to represent the company's interests and influence policy development and industry standards related to transportation safety. u25cf Develop and oversee a comprehensive safety governance framework for operations, encompassing policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure compliance. u25cf Engage and lead the safety governance forums Preferred qualifications u25cf 10+ years of experience in transportation safety management or a similar role. u25cf Bachelors in Engineering / Technology preferably Mechanical engineering. u25cf Deep understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to Autonomous vehicle transportation operations u25cf Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent safety certification. u25cf Experience as Internal Auditor / Certification on ISO 9001 QMS and ISO 14001 EHS u25cf Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts and present at all levels within the organization u25cf Outstanding leadership / organizational skills with a track record of managing complex functional interactions u25cf Ability to scale-up the processes, standardize across multiple sites u25cf Right to work in the United States of America. Salary and Other Compensation: Applications will be accepted until October 10th, 2025 . The hourly rate for this position is between $51.00 u2013 $55.00 per hour , depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizantu2019s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizantu2019s applicable plans.
