In addition, they will serve as the academicadvisor for students pursuing a certificate in AIIS. In addition to homedepartments, advisors in L&S are a part of an active advising communityand interdependent system. During the academic year, L&S advisors meetmonthly as a consortium for information sharing and ongoing training.All L&S advisors also contribute to the campus Student Orientation,Advising, and Registration (SOAR) program, for a couple weeks in summerand a few days in January, to advise new L&S first-year and transferstudents. This position is onsite and full-time, 100%.Key JobResponsibilities: Assists in defining the objectives of the program andplays a major role in carrying out program duties Develops teachingtechniques that enhance course effectiveness in alignment with desiredoutcomes and established strategy Supervises the day to day activitiesof work unit employees involved in instructional support as neededCoordinates outreach to UW students and campus units to generateinterest in American Indian & Indigenous Studies, includingrelationship-building with underrepresented groups. Assesses learnerperformance and prepares reports recommending instructional improvementsProvides classroom, online and/or laboratory instruction, includinggrading Assists in developing techniques and/or model programs forcarrying out instructional goals in disciplinary area and may helpidentify ways in which new techniques could be of assistanceDepartment:College of Letters & Science, American Indian & IndigenousStudiesCompensation: The typical starting salary for this position is$60,000 - $72,000 depending on qualifications and experience.Employees in this...
