Thisindustry leading facility is located in the heart of the UW-Madisoncampus and is home to 84 lactating cows. This facility plays a criticalrole in supporting the teaching, research, and outreach missions of theuniversity. The capacity for unique, individualized nutrition basedresearch, as well as research on mammary and reproductive physiology,and transition cow management. In addition, the ability for intensivehands-on learning opportunities makes this facility one of a kind. Thisposition is involved in all aspects of research dairy operations,including but not limited to, milking, feeding, cleaning, handling, andanimal health observations at the facility. This position must functionwith close, progressing to limited supervision. The incumbent in thisposition must work with limited supervision to collect, process, andcomposite milk samples according to established standard operatingprocedures.Key Job Responsibilities: Collects samples from animals andadministers medications, injections, and treatments according toestablished protocols and procedures to be used for diagnostic tests andresearch Observes animal behavior, performs basic animal care, andreports concerns to the appropriate entities to contribute to the healthand well-being of animals and promote research Prepares food andformulas and feeds animals according to established schedules andspecifications Maintains organization of and updates records related toresearch procedures Inventories, cleans, and maintains organization ofanimal holding spaces and supplies Inspects and reports equipmentproblems to ensure optimal and safe operationDepartment: ARS - DairyCattle Center, Madison, WICompensation: The minimum salary for thisposition is $20.00 per hour, however, final salary will depend on...For full info follow application link.
