JOB REQUIREMENTS: Midwest Solar Power is seeking a ResidentialJourneyman Electrician to join our solar electric team. We are agrowing, locally owned company that has been installing solar electricsystems in the Madison area since 2009. Job Overview Asa Journeyman Electrician, you will be a key contributor to theinstallation and maintenance of solar PV systems. You will leadelectrical work in residential environments and serve as a team memberin commercial environments. You will work collaboratively with membersof the installation team to ensure the safe and efficient installationand maintenance of solar PV systems in adherence to industry standardsand regulations, including the National Electric Code. The idealcandidate for this position will be self-motivated, have excellentattention to detail, problem solving, communication and collaborationskills. Duties Read and interpret plans/permit sets to determine thelayout of solar PV electrical and battery systems. Performbusiness management duties, such as maintaining records or files,preparing reports, or ordering supplies or equipment. Providepreliminary sketches or cost estimates for materials or services. Repairor replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or powertools. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identifyhazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensurecompliance with codes. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, orcomponents, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of abreakdown and correct the problem. Test electrical systems or continuityof circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testingdevices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensurecompatibility and safety of system. Direct or train workers to install,maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Planlayout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures,based on job specifications and local codes. Maintain currentelectrician's license or identification card to meet governmentalregulations. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or othercomponents.
