JOB REQUIREMENTS: Midwest Solar Power is seeking a ResidentialJourneyman Electrician to join our solar electric team. We are agrowing, locally owned company that has been installing solar electricsystems in the Madison area since 2009. Job Overview Asa Journeyman Electrician, you will be a key contributor to theinstallation and maintenance of solar PV systems. You will leadelectrical work in residential environments and serve as a team memberin commercial environments. You will work collaboratively with membersof the installation team to ensure the safe and efficient installationand maintenance of solar PV systems in adherence to industry standardsand regulations, including the National Electric Code. The idealcandidate for this position will be self-motivated, have excellentattention to detail, problem solving, communication and collaborationskills. Duties Read and interpret plans/permit sets to determine thelayout of solar PV electrical and battery systems. Participate in jobpre-planning, including applying for required electrical permits Workcooperatively with team members to complete solar system installationsEnsure all installations comply with NEC standards and local regulationsTroubleshoot and diagnose system components to resolve electrical issuesAdhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environmentQualifications Possession of a valid Journeyman Electrician licenseWorking knowledge of current NEC codes Working knowledge of residentialelectrical wiring and systems Knowledge of solar PV systems andequipment Ability to read and interpret solar PV system layout plansKnowledge of building construction principles and practices Ability touse power and hand tools Proficient in the use of test meters and otherdiagnostic tools OSHA 10 or ability to complete within 1 month of hireNABCEP PV Installation Professional or ability to complete within 1 yearof hire Able to see color to discern color-coded wiring Capable ofpulling wires and cables through conduits Able to work on roofs Able tomaintain a controlled lift of up to 70 pounds at a time Pay $34.20 -$38.30/hour Job type Full-time Expected hours 40-45 hours/week BenefitsGenerous PTO (starting at 3 weeks) & Holidays Health insurance Parentalleave policy Retirement Contributions Generous year-end bonuses, basedon profits and hours worked Paid training and education opportunitiesDiscount on solar installation on your home Midwest Solar Power is anEqual Opportunity Employer. Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, orrepair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Place conduit, pipes,or tubing, inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealedareas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit tocomplete circuits between boxes. Use a variety of tools or equipment,such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools,and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring,equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or powertools. Perform physically demanding tasks, such as digging trenches tolay conduit or moving or lifting heavy objects. Fasten small metal orplastic boxes to walls to house electrical switches or outlets. Performbusiness management duties, such as maintaining records or files,preparing reports, or ordering supplies or equipment. Providepreliminary sketches or cost estimates for materials or services. Repairor replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using hand tools or powertools. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identifyhazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensurecompliance with codes. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, orcomponents, using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of abreakdown and correct the problem. Test electrical systems or continuityof circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testingdevices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensurecompatibility and safety of system. Direct or train workers to install,maintain, or repair electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures. Planlayout and installation of electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures,based on job specifications and local codes. Maintain currentelectrician's license or identification card to meet governmentalregulations. Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or othercomponents.
