JOB REQUIREMENTS: Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin.BETTER TOGETHER The Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) functionsas an independent healthcare providerwith an advanced degree ofknowledge, skill and expertise in history taking, physical and mentalstatus exam, medical and psychiatric evaluation, treatment, and clinicalmanagement of members. The APNP provides outpatient mental health andpsychiatric assessment, treatment, education and consultation servicesto patients seen in the Behavioral Health Department. The incumbentprescribes and manages psychotropic medications for patients asindicated, and works in a collaborative relationship with other GHC-SCWhealth care physicians and practitioners. The Advanced Practice NursePrescriber receives clinical direction from, and collaborates with, theMedical Director for Behavioral Health, and receives administrativesupervision and direction from the Director, Behavioral Health, withadditional accountabilities to Staff Psychiatrists and the Chief MedicalOfficer. JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS Valid State of Wisconsin license topractice as a Registered Nurse required. Valid State ofWisconsinAdvanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) certification.Certification by the State of Wisconsin Medicaid/Health Forward programas an APNP and possession of a National Provider Identifier (NPI Number)for health care providers required. Current, national certification as aNurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist in area complementary topractice area, such as psychiatric or mental health nursing, isrequired.Certifying agency must be approved by the State of Wisconsin.Current memberships in professional nursing associations preferred.Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Nursingwith specialty preparation as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical NurseSpecialist preferred. Possession of or eligibility for a validHealthcare Provider CPR/AED certificate is required. Employee mustobtain certification within four (4) months of employment. A minimum ofthree (3) years of experience in psychiatric/behavioral health nursing,including prescribing, preferred. Previous experience in managingemergency situations required. Additional education and experience tofurther develop skills and knowledge in specialty area required.Knowledge of scientific, advanced practice nursing principles as a basisfor quality decision-making required.
