JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Purpose The Electrical Engineer will specialize insmart grid, renewables, distributed energy resources (DER), andcommunications technology. This role focuses on deploying andintegrating advanced technology to enhance distribution automation andDER integration. This position will contribute to delivering a safe,reliable, resilient, and sustainable power grid. Core Responsibilities:Note: This list is not all inclusive Lead the development, design, andcommissioning of centralized and decentralized distribution automationsystems. Plan and implement smart grid devices to monitor and controlDERs, ensuring grid reliability and resilience. Design and commissionRTU panels for distribution and customer projects. Maintain and trackfield equipment settings for smart devices including relays, reclosers,voltage regulators, and capacitor banks. Manage complex projects,including scope development, design, procurement, testing,commissioning, and implementation. Prepare technical documentation,standards, and best practices for smart equipment Support substationrelaying, control, and construction project design and commissioning.Perform feasibility assessments, research, and recommendations for newor existing systems.Manage budgeting, estimating, forecasting, and workorder processes for engineering projects. Provide technical guidance andwork direction for interns, drafters, and technicians. Plans and Aligns: Plans andprioritizes work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.Skills: Knowledge of electric power system engineering principles(high-, medium-, and low-voltage systems). Proficiency in reading andinterpreting schematic and wiring diagrams. Experience with distributionautomation control hardware (reclosers, automated switches, capacitorbanks). Familiarity with SCADA protocols (DNP3, MODBUS+, IEC 61850) andnetwork communications. Strong project management and communicationskills. Analytical problem-solving and innovative thinking terest in networking, renewable energy, sustainability, and smart gridtechnologies. Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering(required). Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred but notrequired. Experience: Candidates with a range of experience levels areencouraged to apply. Field experience with utility distribution systemspreferred.
