The position hasresponsibilities, which include testing and participation in methoddevelopment in the Inorganic Wet Chemistry/Metals areas of thelaboratory. This position is responsible for independently preparing andanalyzing environmental samples. This position works with the teammembers to monitor the status of tests in the Wet Chemistry/Metalsareas. The successful candidate will perform routine analysis onInorganic/Metals environmental samples with minimal supervision. Work inthe laboratory involves the operation and maintenance of flow injectionanalyzers (FIA), inductively coupled plasma optical emissionspectrometry (ICP-OES), graphite furnace atomic absorption GFFA and ionchromatography (IC) instrumentation. Personal initiative, independence,strong technical skills, and collaboration are essential in this role.The employee in this position is expected to use the tools andprinciples of quality management in performing their daily workincluding the following: Demonstrate exceptional customer service byestablishing and maintaining effective professional relationships withmanagers, supervisor, coworkers, and all customers. Provide constructivefeedback for the purpose of continuous improvement in a manner that issupportive of the State Laboratory of Hygiene and its mission. Use datacollection tools as appropriate.
