JOB REQUIREMENTS: Current Employees: If you are currently employed atany of the Universities of Wisconsin, log in to Jobs Hub to applythrough the internal application process.Job Category:UniversityStaffEmployment Type:RegularJob Profile:Specimen Receiving TechnicianJobDuties: The Specimen Receiving Technician receives, processes,accessions, assigns, enters, and distributes specimens to uphold qualityassurance and control to maintain smooth workflow of the laboratory.This includes daily transports of specimens across different areas ofcampus.Key Job Responsibilities: 60% Performs specimen preparation,intake, screening, and/or receiving/warehousing while using PersonalProtective Equipment (PPE) 5% Schedules logistics and secures resourcesfor laboratory supplies, and maintains and organizes inventory 5Þvelops and updates preparation methods and policies to ensure qualitycontrol, quality assurance, and to maintain Standard OperationProcedures (SOP) 5% Collects, prepares, and updates specimen records invarious mediums to ensure compliance with established policies,procedures 15% Provides general support to other units within the AnimalServices Division as needed 10% Prepares specimens for scientificexamination and analysisDepartment: UWMSN OVCR WNPRC ScientificProtocol Implementation (SPI)Compensation: Starting hourly rate of$21.00Required Qualifications: Drivers License - Valid and Meets UWRisk Management Standards Required. This position requires regulardriving to deliver specimens across campus locations. The successfulcandidate must have strong oral and written communication skills,effective interpersonal skills, and well-developed organizational skillscharacterized by careful attention to detail.
