Department/Unit: Trauma And Critical Care Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $0.00 - $0.00 Department: Surgery u2013 Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) Position Title: Emergency Department Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (Weekday Coverage) Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM u2013 7:00 PM (Mid-shift hours negotiable) FTE: 1.0 Full-Time Equivalent Position Summary: This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is a key member of the Acute Care Surgery & Critical Care (ACS&CC) team, providing clinical support in the emergency department (ED) during peak hours for trauma and surgical patients. The APP will collaborate closely with attending surgeons, surgical residents, of the ACS &CC care team to deliver high-quality care to surgical patients. Primary Responsibilities: u2022 Represent the ACS&CC team in the Emergency Room as a provider u2022 Provide back up for inpatient medical-surgical floor ACS APP providers u2022 Perform ED consultations with comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations for the ACS&CC service line u2022 Perform procedures and wound care as required in the ED u2022 Deliver care to patients of the ACS&CC division that are u201cboardedu201d in the ED u2022 Respond to Level 3 traumas and provide trauma consultations. u2022 Coordinate patient discharges and ensure follow-up care is arranged u2022 Respond to Emergency Department ACS&CC consults and provide timely evaluations u2022 Document all clinical encounters and procedures accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) u2022 Communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members u2022 Effectively partner with other members of the ACS & CC team (surgeons, APP, residents, medical students) u2022 Weekday or Weekend Shifts u2022 Conduct one quality improvement project annually u2022 Support the mission of education, research and quality u2022 Contribute to care team meetings Qualifications: u2022 Masteru2019s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program. u2022 Current NYS licensure and national certification (NCCPA or ANCC/AANP). u2022 BLS and ACLS certifications required. u2022 Willing to audit or ATLS certified u2022 1u20132 years of relevant experience in surgical or inpatient care preferred. u2022 Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
