As a Principal Engineer I, you will collaborate with technical operations staff on system design and configuration, while guiding design teams and advising team leaders to ensure cutting-edge solutions and seamless integration. In this impactful role, you will be at the forefront of technological innovation, maintaining and enhancing critical hardware, software, and electrical systems.How You’ll Make an ImpactDesign, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas Develop and implement tools, scripts, queries, and applications for ETL/ELT and dataoperations.Established knowledge of private cloud design, deployment, and operational supportparadymes, including CI/CD automation and pipelines, and containers basedmicroservices.Established knowledge of web services, java environments, microservices, front and backend Design and deployment paradymes and related system integration strategies.Established knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TFTP, NTP and other critical, service deliveryprotocols.Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessaryTest and review system designsProvide engineering technical support and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards and documentation are metMentor and guide the work of technical staffReview work plans and design and advise on improvementsAdhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicableWorking ConditionsOffice environmentWhat You’ll Bring to SpectrumRequired QualificationsEducationMaster’s or bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field or related work experienceExperience(Five) 5+ years engineering work experience(Five) 5+ years project management work experienceSkillsAbility to read, write, speak and understand English Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, Fiber (Multimode, Single mode, UTP, etc.), Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet and Transport technologies and protocols Basic knowledge in network design, network architecture, protocols and network topology Basic knowledge in TCP/IP and the OSI Model Basic knowledge in using ticketing and software tools to support the current operationsBasic knowledge of network devices and basic network appliances Basic knowledge of network designing software, such as Visio Ability to perform duties in a very fast-paced environment and ability to learn new technology quickly Ability to use personal computer and software applications Preferred QualificationsEducationCisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Industry and vendor specific certifications and training preferred (Cisco, Juniper, Alcatel-Lucent, etc.) SkillsKnowledge of Spectrum products and services EGN601 2025-60961 2025 Here, our employees don’t just have jobs, they're building careers. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
