Bachelor’s degree in a related specialized area or the equivalent experience is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.GDMS is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to lead our manufacturing engineering team supporting our Bloomington Manufacturing Operations. This position will report into the Senior Manager for Manufacturing in our Bloomington Site. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead team members to establish manufacturing plans, monitor performance, established processes and procedures. Your team will also work with design engineering teams to provide design for manufacturing recommendations, transition new products into production, and ensure manufacturing processes are capable of delivering quality products. The manufacturing engineering team will have the responsibility establish cost and cycle time targets for manufacturing processes. Your team will support ongoing production to ensure processes remain in control and lead corrective action when required. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will coordinate cross functional activities to execute manufacturing processes, implement continuous improvement and monitor operations to ensure customer requirements are met.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing productsAct as DPMO or support DPMO to assigned programsEnsure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirementsCollaborate across departments—Lines of Business, Supply Chain Management, and Engineering to ensure program objectives are aligned and understoodManage people, including performance evaluations and merit recommendationsWork closely with product design/engineering to ensure new products are seamlessly transitioned into productionAct as a liaison with engineering in releasing new productsEnsure that all internal quality practices demonstrate compliance with external regulationsManage all capital requirements in facilities and ensure equipment and machinery meet the required safety, quality, and productivity requirementsResponsible for areas of lean manufacturing techniques, cost reduction, on-time delivery performance, safety, visual controls, and plant performance measurementsEnsure the effective use of materials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costsImplement and analyze manufacturing engineering plans and projectsDesign, develop, and transfer manufacturing engineering tools, strategies, and systemsLead other managers and/or supervisors related to a business area, project, or strategic activityManage group activities to develop and implement long-range goals and objectives to meet business and stated profitability growth objectivesMonitor the overall execution of process changes to improve overall efficiency of manufacturing and the effects on current and future work (cost, cycle time, quality)Communicate relevant department, group, or project information to other related teams and departmentsEnsure process compliance of all manufacturing activity in areas of responsibilityContribute to the development of strategies for pricing, program planning, risk management, negotiations, and margin generation for programs at the proposal stageEstablish selection criteria for hiring senior members of operations staff and manage the hiring processLead and manage proposals within the business areaManage and review the development of operations schedules and baselines in response to program direction, contract guidance, and product lifecycle requirementsLead efforts to identify schedule and resource risks and develop risk reduction plansLead the team in the development and execution of earned value requirementsReview operations plans to meet requirements for sales planning and to ascertain manufacturing or outsourcing requirements to develop new products/marketsRegularly assess performance of team members to established processes and proceduresMentor and develop other operations managers and supervisorsDrive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organizationManage area to achieve all strategic goalsMay be responsible for multiple functions, locations, products, or technical abilitiesRegular communications with experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary.
