ABOUT THE POSITIONVHB’s Providence, Rhode Island office is seeking Traffic Intern to join the team.Our team works with public, private, and institutional clients to support a variety of projects. Our services include design of multilane highways and interchanges to the reconstruction of arterials and local roads, bridges, small intersection improvements, on- and off-street bicycle facilities, operational analysis, multimodal planning, conceptual design, parking analysis, and safety evaluations. We collaborate across our footprint with numerous other VHB groups on many of our transformative projects.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely mannerAssist in development of planning and engineering solutionsAssist in data mining and visualization Perform analysis of data or calculations Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activitiesPrepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reportsSkills and AttributesExcellentverbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsTeamoriented with strong capability to work independentlySelf-motivatedwith attention to detailA strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieveKnowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GISKnowledgeof Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) requiredQualificationsCurrently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a related fieldVHB does not provide housing for internships.We are VHB!We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.
