Job Description

We are seeking a Behavioral Health LPN, also referred to as an Acute Psych LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse). The Behavioral Health LPN (SBHU Licensed Practical Nurse), plays a critical role in a hospital setting by assessing mental health needs, developing nursing plans, administering psychiatric medication, and offering therapy and counseling. This includes evaluating patients' mental health status and conditions based on medical history, symptoms, and behavioral observationsTreatment Planning: Develop individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionalsMedication Management: Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses to these medicationsTherapeutic Care: Provide restorative care to patients, including individual and group therapy sessions. This may involve various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), or other modalitiesPatient Education: Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment plans, including coping strategies, self-care techniques, and medication complianceCrisis Intervention: Respond to crises, using de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral emergencies and ensure patient safetyDocumentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient recordsBefore we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have: 1. Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.2. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.3.
