Job Summary and Qualifications The Cardiovascular Invasive Registered Nurse will provide direct care to adult and geriatric patients and will: + Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act, with emphasis on the adult patient receiving invasive, diagnostic, and interventional procedures + Promote and maintain a safe and therapeutic cardiovascular invasive lab environment. + Provide high quality care -pre, post, and during procedures + Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual cardiovascular invasive lab patients. + Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process. + Hemodynamic and EKG monitoring including interpretation of information obtained + Administration of Sedation Analgesia and monitoring patients response + Management of high-risk intravenous therapies. + Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care. + Use therapeutic communication in daily practice. + Delegate tasks to the appropriate personnel + Basic knowledge of purpose CVI supplies while assisting in Inventory control and ordering + Basic computer knowledge + Participate in Cardiovascular Department specific initiatives and process improvement. + Promote a supportive environment. + Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistants, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse externs. + Maintain high quality [age specific] care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned. + Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization What qualifications you will need: + Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date + (RN) Registered Nurse + Associate Degree + Bachelors Degree must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date Medical City McKinney opened its doors more than 90 years ago.
