District Overview The Kiewit Power Market provides direct-hire and construction services for Power Generation and Distribution utilizing a union and non-union craft force. The Kiewit Power Market builds major EPC and bid-build natural gas power plants, solar fields, nuclear facilities and energy storage systems while also providing extensive power delivery services like transmission lines, substations and underground distribution throughout North America. Responsibilities u2022 Work with a vibrant and diverse team to build, estimate, and schedule mechanical, electrical and heavy industrial systems. u2022 Support both administrative and construction activities as assigned by the supervisor, reviewing proposals/specifications, drawings, perform material takeoffs, prepare cost estimates and attend pre-bid investigation meetings. u2022 Learn how to supervise subcontractors and communicate with vendors. u2022 Prepare work plans, assure quality control, manage and track costs and materials, schedule equipment, administer safety programs and maintain exceptional owner relations will fall within the job duties as well. u2022 We are looking for the next generation of leaders who strive for excellence and have the drive and desire it takes to work in the fast paced, heavy construction environment. u2022 This job requires relocation. Qualifications u2022 Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or related degree u2022 Broad knowledge and ability to understand project scheduling and cost control, and to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings u2022 Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SureTrak, Hard Dollar, Revit, SAP, Pro Log and/or Primavera u201cP6u201d is a plus u2022 Strong organizational and time management skills u2022 Strong written and verbal communication skills u2022 Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies u2022 Strong work ethic u2013 Highly motivated and willing to do what it takes to get the job done right u2022 The ability to work independently as well as part of a team u2022 The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments u2022 Knowledge of construction safety and current federal & OSHA requirements is preferred u2022 The ability to travel and/or relocate as required u2022 Reliable transportation to and from work Other Requirements: u2022 Regular, reliable attendance u2022 Work productively and meet deadlines timely u2022 Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment u2022 Perform work safely and effectively.
