Craft Job Posting TemplateCement Mason JourneymanSUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a Cement Mason Journeyman that will be responsible for smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures, using appropriate tools (i.e., hand or power tools, floats, trowels, screeds).RESPONSIBILITIESSpread concrete to specified depth and workable consistencyPrep work utilizing cementitious or finish product to ensure substrate is appropriate for product; set forms to specific standards, such as chipping, bushing, and grindingLevel, smooth, and shape surfaces of freshly poured concreteFinish concrete surfaces using power trowel, or wet and rub concrete with abrasive stone to create finish; place concrete to ensure proper elevationRemove rough or defective spots from concrete surfaces using power grinder or chisel and hammerPatch holes with fresh concrete or epoxy compoundMold expansion joints and edgesGrind, chip, or blast to prep surface for materials, or as finishClean work area and restock supplies and materials as necessaryEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsAll other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or GEDMinimum two (2) years related experienceMust have passed Apprentice Aptitude TestAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; knowledge of equipment and their uses; basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackRepetitive hand, arm, leg movementsLifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
