Job Description

SUMMARYMortenson is currently seeking a Superintendent that will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and supervising assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities in a particular area of discipline, while developing and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service.RESPONSIBILITIESPlan and implement to ensure all materials, equipment, and inspections support the project scheduleReview construction and contract documents for completeness and constructabilityCoordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepanciesDevelop and manage project schedules, including three and six-week look-ahead schedulesDevelop a site logistics plan and lead the utilization of Mortenson tools and equipmentCollaborate with project partner superintendentsConduct on-site project orientations, pre-construction planning sessions, and project site meetingsSupervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; interview, hire, transfer, and dismiss craft team members as neededCoach and mentor assistant superintendents, craft team members, and other project team membersEnsure proper task coding of work hours on timecards, track work progress and craft productivityHandle craft team member training and conduct career development discussionsEffectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levelsLead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and manage performanceProvide high-level management of safety, quality, risk, and compliance for the project and team membersRecognize and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and seek opportunities to improve processes and proceduresQUALIFICATIONSAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10 years trade experienceMinimum 5 years construction management or related experienceCurrent driver's licenseAbility to fulfill responsibilities for multiple, complex projectsDetail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasksBasic understanding of construction law and generally accepted business practicesIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsPositive and professional attitude with strong customer service skillsAbility to interpret and communicate Mortenson policiesActive listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedbackAbility to travel up to 100%Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, inclusive behaviors, and Affirmative Action plansA few benefits offered include:(for Non-Craft & Non-Union Craft working 25+ hours / week)Medical and prescription drug plans that includes no additional cost vision coverageDental plan401k retirement plan with a generous Mortenson matchPaid time off, holidays, and other paid leavesEmployer paid Life, AD&D, and disability insuranceNo-Cost mental health tool and conciergewith extensive work-life resourcesTuition reimbursementAdoption AssistanceGym Membership Discount ProgramThe base pay range for this role is $108,600 MIN - $162,900 MAX. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL - 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR - 10%, Washington, D.C. - 12.5%).Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson's incentive plan.Visa sponsorship is not offered for this
