In this entry-level position, ourHorizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Technicians operate Vermeer drillrigs and equipment, playing a pivotal role in major telecommunicationsprojects. With training provided, your expertise will ensure precisionand efficiency in drilling operations. What our Horizontal DirectionalDrilling Technicians Enjoy Most About the Role Travel, includingovernight stays, is a regular part of the job. Hotel accommodation andper diem are provided for overnight stays during the work week. Operateadvanced equipment: Use horizontal directional drills and otherconstruction machinery to install underground telecommunications cables,align machinery, and level earth to precise grade specifications. Manageequipment repair and maintenance. Drive project success: Measuredistances to move and relocate infrastructure, coordinate with HDDLocators, manage work sites including traffic and pedestrian control,all while ensuring safety and compliance. Working Conditions You willwork outdoors in all kinds of weather, including adverse conditions, dayor night and often near power lines and electricity. You are exposed todust, dirt, noise, insects, rodents, pets, and cleaning solutions.Travel, including overnight stays, is a regular part of the job.Overtime, including weekends or a second shift may be required asneeded. Required Qualifications Education: High School diploma orequivalent. Fluent in English. Experience: Entry-level candidateswelcome; we provide training Valid driver's license with satisfactorydriving record within company-required standards. PreferredQualifications OSHA safety certifications operator qualifications. ClassA or B CDL. 5+ years of Horizontal Drill experience preferred. Practicalworking experience with underground construction and equipment for bothconduit and fiber installation.
