REALconducts rigorous and cutting-edge research that identifies keystructural inequities that stand in the way of reproductive autonomy.The Research Coordinator will work alongside a team ofmulti-disciplinary faculty, staff, and trainees. The ResearchCoordinator's primary responsibility will be managing a newly fundedthree-year project examining disparities in postpartum pain treatmentamong Black birthing people in Madison, Wisconsin. This role requires anon-site presence for meetings, engagement activities, and datacollection, which will include one-on-one interviews and electronicsurveys with clinicians (e.g., physicians, nurse midwives, registerednurses, physician assistants) and Black birthing people. The ResearchCoordinator will work closely with multiple stakeholders on and offcampus, including research compliance and finance colleagues, patients,clinicians, and community partners. As such, their role will be integralto REAL's community accountability. In addition, the ResearchCoordinator will contribute to REAL's broader portfolio ofmixed-methods research, which examines both reproductive health(perinatal health, abortion, contraception) and policies that impedereproductive autonomy and equity (e.g., abortion restrictions, BirthCost Recovery). Under the oversight and mentorship of the AssociateDirector (Klaira Lerma) and Senior Research Scientist (Laura Swan), theResearch Coordinator will support project management and leadimplementation tasks (e.g., IRB submissions, recruitment, engagement) aswell as data collection (e.g., surveys, interviews).
