We encourage all our engineers to constantly add value to themselves and the business through learning and collaboration.We are looking for smart, self-motivated software engineers to join our truly exceptional engineering team.This is a hybrid contract position with initial 6-months with opportunity to get extended or potentially hired full-time (Requiring to be on-site three days a week)Role SummaryWe're seeking a senior-level UX Designer/Researcher to help define and shape the user experience of the software used to execute experiments and analyze data on complex analytical lab instrumentation. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with product teams to conduct user research, create wireframes and prototypes, and design intuitive interfaces that meet both user needs and business goals. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to simplify complex workflows are essential. Experience with responsive design, usability testing, and iterative design processes is a plus.What You’ll DoDesignCreate and iterate onuser flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity prototypesfollowing best practices and leveraging design systems.Produceresponsive UI designsacross different platforms, including browser-based and mobile contexts.Prepareengineering-ready deliverables(component specs, Figma designs, annotations) and collaborate with developers to maintain design fidelity.Participate incollaborative design reviewswith stakeholders to ensure alignment with business goals and technical feasibility.Extend and maintain thedesign system, ensuring consistency across products.Identify customer unmet needs and improvement opportunities through user and stakeholder engagement and research.Evaluative / Usability TestingPlan and executeusability studieson prototypes and live software to identify issues and validate design decisions.Developtest protocols and scripts, define success metrics, and synthesize findings into actionable recommendations.Partner with Product and Engineering toprioritize usability issuesand track improvements over time.Analyzeproduct analyticsand user behavior data to inform iterative design improvements.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degreein Design (Graphic, Interaction, HCI, Product design) or related field.5+ yearsin UX design for digital products across multiple platforms (desktop, mobile, touchscreen).Portfoliodemonstrating design work from concept to shipped product, including usability testing insights.Proficiency inFigma(or similar) for wireframing, prototyping, and design systems.Experience conductingusability testingand applying findings to improve designs.Strong communication skills to articulate design rationale and influence stakeholders.Knowledge ofHTML/CSS/JavaScriptcapabilities and constraints.Preferred QualificationsExperience withcomplex system design(web-based applications for data analysis; scientific domain a plus).Familiarity withanalytics toolsand defining user-centered KPIs.Experience building or extendingdesign systems.Understanding ofaccessibility standards(WCAG).Waters Corporation (NYSE:WAT) is a global leader in analytical instruments, separations technologies, and software, serving the life, materials, food, and environmental sciences for over 65 years.
