Senior Accountant

Description We are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Belmont, California. This position is ideal for someone who excels at financial management and has a strong background in accounting processes. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities: u2022 Manage the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. u2022 Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to support accurate financial documentation. u2022 Prepare and post journal entries, verifying proper classification and completeness. u2022 Conduct account reconciliations to ensure balances align with supporting documentation. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies efficiently. u2022 Process and record cash entries while maintaining thorough documentation. u2022 Utilize Blackbaud software to manage accounting and financial processes effectively. u2022 Collaborate with teams in public school settings to ensure compliance with financial procedures. u2022 Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements for financial operations. Requirements u2022 Proven experience in month-end close processes and financial reporting. u2022 Proficiency in managing general ledger accounts and reconciling discrepancies. u2022 Strong skills in preparing journal entries and ensuring accuracy. u2022 Expertise in account and bank reconciliation. u2022 Familiarity with Blackbaud or similar accounting software. u2022 Experience in financial operations within public schools or non-profit organizations. u2022 Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet critical deadlines. u2022 Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
