Sr. Accountant

Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Banning, California. This role is ideal for someone detail-oriented with a strong background in grant accounting and familiarity with government or non-profit industries. As a key contributor to our financial operations, you will ensure compliance with accounting standards and provide valuable insights for budgeting and planning. Responsibilities: u2022 Prepare and analyze journal entries to maintain accurate financial records. u2022 Oversee grant budgeting processes and ensure proper allocation of funds. u2022 Conduct month-end close activities, including reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports. u2022 Manage the general ledger and ensure compliance with GAAP standards. u2022 Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly. u2022 Collaborate with internal teams to support grant planning and reporting requirements. u2022 Ensure compliance with industry-specific accounting practices, particularly in government and non-profit sectors. u2022 Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and controls. u2022 Assist in audits and provide necessary documentation to support financial reviews. u2022 Mentor and guide less experienced staff in accounting best practices. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in grant accounting. u2022 Proven knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and standards. u2022 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business. u2022 Demonstrated experience in government, non-profit, or tribal industries. u2022 Proficiency in journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and month-end close processes. u2022 Strong skills in account and bank reconciliations. u2022 Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights. u2022 Excellent organizational and communication skills.
