Job Description AECOM u2019s West Region is actively seeking a highly motivated Geotechnical Project Engineer to join the Orange, California Geo-Civil team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on very challenging projects including Dams, Levees, Pipelines, Bridges, Tunnels, Building Structures, and other Facilities, and collaborate with a wide range of different disciplines. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Oversee subsurface investigations including drilling exploration boreholes and advancing CPTs at various sites throughout Southern California + Review and assign laboratory testing for geotechnical samples + Oversee inspection of construction activities to monitor progress and assess conformance to engineering plans, specifications and construction standards + Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses including slope stability, seepage, settlement, earth retention, liquefaction, and shallow and deep foundations + Prepare geotechnical engineering reports and recommendations + Review regulations and standards necessary to conduct technical studies and carry out project design and permitting work + Prepare and/or peer review designs, specifications, and construction documents + Assemble and document geotechnical data using software that includes: Excel, Word, gINT, AutoCAD + Apply QA/QC requirements to their own work and work of the project team Qualifications Minimum Requirements + Bachelor's degree plus four (4) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education + Candidate must have a valid driver's license + Professional engineering license or ability to gain one within 6 months of hire Preferred Qualifications + Masteru2019s degree or PhD in Civil Engineering + 10 years or more of experience + Geotechnical California GE registration is a plus + Working knowledge of relevant California seismic code provisions + Strong commitment to ensuring safe project execution + Local travel may be required + Experience working with local permitting jurisdictions + OSHA 40 Hour Hazwoper Certification Additional Information + Sponsorship may be considered for this role + Relocation is not offered for this role Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
