This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for public service to work with an elected official whose agenda is focused on safer communities, affordable housing, funding for schools and libraries, supportive services for youth and seniors, and quality healthcare.The Constituent Services Liaison is responsible for providing efficient constituent service, including advocacy, monitoring, and updating the Senator and Chief of Staff on district and local issues. Constituent casework is one of the essential functions of a Senate office. While a day in the life will vary, some of the primary responsibilities include:u2022Attending community meetings and events to represent the Senatoru2022Resolving and managing constituent issues and responding to casework correspondenceu2022Interacting with government agencies, organizations, members of the community, and other elected officialsu2022Entering constituent requests into a databaseu2022Maintaining up-to-date files on issuesu2022Assisting with office and community events Minimum Qualifications Ideal candidates will possess the following education, experience, and competencies:u2022Bacheloru2019s degree preferred, oru2022Associateu2019s degree with comparable job experienceu2022Two years of public service is strongly preferred, e.g., case management, community organizing, or nonprofit work experienceu2022Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and maintain consistent attention to detailu2022Proficient computer skillsu2022Excellent written and public speaking abilitiesu2022Flexibility about work hours, available to work evenings and weekends on occasionu2022Must have their own transportation to get to meetings, etc. u2022Ability to work well under pressure in a team-oriented environmentu2022Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to speak before large groups Additional Comments Salary is $47,000 to $50,000, commensurate with education and experience.
