Job Summary The Grants Analyst is the financial steward for a portfolio of roughly 100 active grants that fund The YMCA of Greater Seattleu2019s Social Impact Center, Association Office, and other YMCA of Greater Seattle programs. Your core charge is to own the planning, budgeting, and quarterly forecasting cycle for every grantu2014ensuring each award is fully understood, accurately budgeted, and continuously monitored against both funder rules and organizational goals. Youu2019ll partner daily with program leads, the Grants Billing team, and external funders to keep forecasts current, surface risks early, and translate data into clear, actionable insights. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and evening/overnight travel may be expected. Some benefits only available to full-time staff Hiring R ange: $80,000 - $85,000 annually Responsibilities Grant Planning & Forecasting + Build and maintain annual and multi-year budgets for approximately 100 grants, aligning spend plans with award periods, allowable costs, and program milestones. + Lead the quarterly reforecast process: gather updates from program staff, refresh projections, and flag variances or funding gaps for leadership review. + Produce a consolidated grant forecast t hat rolls to the association-wide budget and feeds cash-flow planning. Financial Analysis & Reporting + Support multi-year financial forecasts for grant-funded programs, integrating funding timelines, restrictions, and strategic program goals. + Analyze utilization trends, burn-rates, and cost drivers; recommend corrective actions when spending is off-pace. + Prepare funder- ready financial reports and internal summaries that compare budget vs. actuals, highlight risks, and quantify available balance by grant. + Model u201cwhat-ifu201d scenarios for renewals, extensions, or new funding opportunities to inform strategic decisions. Budgeting and Forecasting + Lead the creation of detailed annual and quarterly grant budgets in coordination with the Finance team and program leaders. + Ensure all grant budgets are consistent with funding requirements, program delivery plans, and internal financial targets. + Update forecasts as needed based on programmatic shifts, renewal decisions, or changes in funder guidance. + Document all budget assumptions clearly to facilitate transparency and compliance. Collaboration & Compliance Support + Work closely with Grants Billing to reconcile revenue, ensure timely draw-downs , and resolve coding issues. + Coordinate with Compliance and Accounting to maintain audit-ready documentation and support 2 CFR 200 / state requirements. + Provide ad-hoc training or quick-reference guides so program managers understand key financial rules and timelines.
