Laboratory Animal Technician

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Starting wage $18.80 per hour - based on experienceMonday - Friday: rotating weekends This position will focus on overallanimal care and welfare, production and selection for customer orders,facility upkeep and recordkeeping and procedural duties. The person inthis role will need to feel passionate about working with animals, enjoyand excel at organization, and support and maintain a clean, safe andcompliant working environment. Cares for animals including feeding andcleaning responsibilities Follows protocol to ensure the health andwelfare of the animals in care Inoculation and administration of dosesto animals Collection of tissues and biological samples from laboratoryanimals Maintains responsibility for sanitation of the animal buildings,cages and support areas Desire to work with and care for animals on adaily basis Continuous effort toward contributing to a clean and safeworking environment Ability and willingness to complete paperwork asneeded Must be available to work weekends/ holidays on a rotating basisWillingness to work overtime when needed Other duties as assignedAdditional Requirements: Frequently bend, reach, push, pull squat andlift up to 50 lbs. unassisted Desire to work with and care for animalson a daily basis Continuous effort toward contributing to a clean andsafe working environment Able to perform repetitive tasks efficientlyAble to follow sterile entry procedures and maintain neat, clean andsafe conditions.
