We are currently seeking Civil Field Engineering Inspection interns for our Transportation-Construction Management team in the Salem and NOVA, VA areas.As a Civil Field Engineering Inspection intern, you will collaborate with and be mentored by top engineering associates on our team while gaining hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Construction Management profession. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be a team player, and be enthusiastic, motivated, honest, and dependable.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Support inspection teams with field inspectionsVerify the dimensions of prepared and completed workCollect and prepare data for evaluationPerform engineering with the use of computer-assisted engineering software and equipmentPrepare reports for site operations activities, including materials used and completed workProvide support to engineering and project management associatesQualifications:Currently pursuing a degree inCivil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related program at an ABET-accrediteduniversityAbility to work independently with general supervision as well as within a collaborative team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteGood driving record with a valid driver’s licenseAbility to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods, under various outside conditionsAbility to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasksAbility to use construction or inspection safety equipment, including fall protectionAbility to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and shake up to 20 poundsPreferred Qualifications:Prior internship or related experienceAn Equal Opportunity Employer.
