Job SummaryIn this position you will be working in an active steel production environment as an embedded outside contractor. Applying Minteq's proprietary refractory products. There are multiple EOT cranes and mobile equipment operating in the same areas. The environment is loud, hot, and dusty. Product may be installed manually or remotely via a robotic apparatus (shooter). Some areas of application are in excess of 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. Basic repair and maintenance of all Minteq equipment is required. It involves mechanical aptitude and use of basic hand tools.Major Duties & ResponsibilitiesApply refractory material and use all relevant equipment as required. (refractory material is heat resistant ceramic material)Follow all standard operating procedures regarding equipment and applications of productOperate equipment and perform basic maintenance - This requires the use of basic hand tools and a mechanical aptitude.Maintain all equipment in working order, with clean appearanceMaintain a strong focus on satisfying the customerMaintain a positive profile with the customerOE/LeanActively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.Note: Management reserves the right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.Education:High School Diploma or Equivalent. Must have ability to speak and read EnglishKnowledge:Previous steel-making or other related experience preferred but not required. Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic experience strongly preferredSkills & Abilities:Communication, interpersonal, adaptability, ability to learn quickly, initiative, integrity, customer and quality focus, judgment/problem-solving, safety awareness.Physical:Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (or more in certain shops). Must be able to withstand the physical pressures of constant standing, walking, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, sitting, extremes of hot and cold, as well as carrying, lifting, pushing and pulling heavy objects.General: Requires working rotating shifts, weekends and holidays. May require emergency call outs and overtime. Must wear all required safety gear. May be requested to travel.
