Description We are looking for a skilled Payroll & Benefits Specialist to join our team in California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to manage payroll and benefits for a growing organization with over 1,100 employees across six states. The role is primarily focused on payroll operations, with additional responsibilities in benefits administration. This position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to contribute to the success of a dynamic team. Responsibilities: u2022 Oversee and execute full-cycle payroll processes for multi-state operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. u2022 Manage payroll for over 1,100 employees, including W2 and hourly staff across six states. u2022 Supervise two payroll analysts and provide guidance to strengthen payroll operations. u2022 Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, coordination, and communication of benefit packages. u2022 Utilize Paycom for payroll processing while preparing for future system transitions. u2022 Collaborate with the HR department to address payroll and benefits-related inquiries. u2022 Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations. u2022 Analyze payroll data using Excel functions such as pivot tables and VLOOKUP to generate reports and insights. u2022 Maintain accurate records and documentation related to payroll and benefits. u2022 Support international expansion efforts by aligning payroll and benefits processes with global standards. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll and benefits management. u2022 Proven expertise in full-cycle payroll and multi-state payroll operations. u2022 Familiarity with Paycom, ADP Workforce Now, or Workday systems. u2022 Strong Excel skills, including proficiency in pivot tables and VLOOKUP. u2022 Experience managing payroll for large organizations with over 500 employees. u2022 Knowledge of benefits administration and compensation practices. u2022 Ability to lead and mentor payroll team members. u2022 Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
