Accounts Payable Clerk

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in Santa Maria, California. This is a long-term contract position suited for someone who is highly attentive to detail and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in managing accounts payable processes for multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in invoice processing and payments. Responsibilities: u2022 Process invoices, including coding and verifying accuracy, to ensure timely payments. u2022 Manage accounts payable for up to 17 entities, handling approximately 500 invoices and hundreds of purchase orders. u2022 Conduct check runs and reconcile accounts to maintain financial accuracy. u2022 Collaborate with a team of four AP staff members to streamline workflows and meet deadlines. u2022 Communicate effectively with internal departments and vendors to address payment inquiries. u2022 Support occasional overtime needs to meet high-volume processing demands. u2022 Maintain organized records and documentation for auditing and reporting purposes. u2022 Utilize straightforward accounting systems to perform daily tasks efficiently. u2022 Assist in resolving discrepancies and improving processes where necessary. u2022 Report directly to management and provide updates on accounts payable activities. Requirements u2022 Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounts payable or related roles. u2022 Proficiency in coding invoices, invoice processing, and conducting check runs. u2022 Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. u2022 Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. u2022 Comfortable managing high volumes of invoices and purchase orders. u2022 Willingness to work occasional overtime as required. u2022 Familiarity with basic accounting systems and processes. u2022 Excellent communication skills to liaise with vendors and internal teams.
