Adjunct Instructor Music - Guitar

Position Details:Kilgore College is seeking a passionate and experienced Guitar Instructor to join our Music Department. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality instruction to students of varying skill levels, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. The Guitar Instructor will be responsible for teaching individual lessons to music majors and non-majors, preparing students for performances and auditions, planning and executing recitals and other performances, and contributing to the development of the music programResponsibilities:This is an adjunct faculty position. Responsibilities will include teaching one or more Music courses, developing appropriate course syllabi, and working with students as needed.Provide individual lessons to students at different levels of proficiencyDevelop and implement lesson plans that cater to the needs and goals of each studentPrepare students for performances, auditions, and other related activitiesEvaluate student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve their techniques and overall performanceCollaborate with other music faculty to plan and execute recitals, concerts, and other eventsStay current with pedagogy and performance practices to ensure high-quality instructionMaintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievementsFoster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all studentsMinimum Qualifications:Masters in Music, or a related field, with an emphasis in GuitarTeaching experience at the college level or in a similar educational settingExperience performing at a professional levelDemonstrated proficiency in a variety of styles and techniquesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to inspire and motivate studentsCommitment to student success and academic excellenceAudition/InterviewInterested candidates should submit the following:A cover letter detailing their teaching philosophy and relevant experienceA current resume or CVContact information for three professional references(Optional) Links to recent performances or recordingsUnofficial transcripts for all degrees and related degree workCandidates will be interviewed via zoom, and finalists will be invited to perform a teaching demonstration.For more information about our Music Department and the Applied Guitar Instructor position, please visit our website at kilgore.edu/music or contact Peter Cunningham,
