Those who succeed at Highmark will do so because they enjoy an empowered, challenging, fulfilling, and financially rewarding workplace!Why we need you: The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for assisting with organizing, directing and managing the overall maintenance and preservation of the Community with 450 units or more.What Highmark can do for YOU:Help you achieve your goals by continuous professional development and regular career progression sessionsCompetitive pay for the marketMonthly bonus opportunities for all site associates30% associate rent discountMedical, Dental & Vision benefits the 1st of the month following 30 days of full-time employmentCompany-provided life insurance, short term and long term disability coverageFlexible Spending accounts401(k) eligibility after 90 days, with 4% Highmark matchProfessional Certification & Tuition reimbursementVacation, Sick and Personal Time off available to use after 90 days10 paid holidaysPaid parental leaveThis is what you will do:Assists the Service Manager in all maintenance related tasks:Supervising maintenance staff and ensure all areas of the community are maintained.Supervises proper levels of inventory, as needed with approvalAssist with contractors and become knowledgeable of competitive pricing of suppliesImplementing, and supervising training program for the use of safety equipment in keeping with SDSTracking, monitoring and following up on resident work orders in Yardi to ensure requests are completed within 24 hoursApartment inspections and walk through check list on all vacant unitsMust be able to lead and mentor the maintenance staff by assisting with skill development and knowledgeAssist by leading the maintenance staff by exampleResponds to emergency calls thru the on-call monitoring service per policyMakes general appliance repairs, carpet repairs, A/C repairs and electrical repairsPerforms carpentry work, welding, painting and plumbing duties as requiredMoves appliances, with assistance, using appliance DollyInstalls appliance and electrical fixtures as requiredReports any maintenance problems and ensure repairs are correctly completed in a timely mannerLead and/or participates in an ongoing community preventive maintenance programAdheres to and complies with company safety policies and rules and OSHA safety standards that are applicable for the safe performance of the jobsParticipate in training program for the use of safety equipment in keeping with SDSAssists Team in achieving positive Satisfacts reports by providing professional and courteous customer service.Assists with resident functions as requiredMaintains courteous and helpful demeanor with resident, prospective residents, co-workers, vendors, etc.Works on-call, overtime, weekends, holiday and evening work as requiredMust have mode of communication in which to be contacted at home and to respond in cases of emergencyMay be transferred or assigned to work at another Highmark CommunityComplies with all policies as outlined in the Operations ManualAdheres to company key proceduresMaintains a clean and orderly shopPerforms other duties as assigned by Service Manager (Community Director and/or Assistant Community Director in Service Manager’s absence)We’re looking for you if: Interested in the aboveYou have leadership and team-building skillsExperience in apartment maintenanceYou strive for excellenceSome things we can’t live without are: Minimum of 3 years of experience in make-ready and on-site apartment maintenanceMust have average written and oral communication skills in EnglishBilingual in Spanish a plusMust be able to direct, motivate, train and develop subordinatesGeneral knowledge of building codes and laws applicable to the community (i.e. Freon recover, electrical, plumbing, swimming pools)High school diplomaValid driver’s license and reliable transportationLeadership skillsA/C Certification II#NEMReq ID: 2025-8284
