Steampunk is hiring an Accounts Payable Manager to work in our headquarters office in McLean Virginia. The position will be responsible for managing the accounts payable team and leading and overseeing the full accounts payable process, ensuring compliance to Federal Government contract regulations and internal policies, managing vendor relationships, preparation of 1099’s, and budget analysis and preparation. This is a full-time position with working hours between 8:30am to 5:30pm. This position will report to the Assistant Controller. Excellent opportunity to grow within the Accounting and Finance Department!Lead and oversee the accounts payable process including invoice intake, coding, approval workflows, payment runs and vendor reconciliationsEnsure accuracy and compliance by reviewing invoices for proper coding, authorization, and adherence to company policies, internal controls, and Federal Government Contracting regulationsManage employee expense report reimbursement cycle, including review for proper coding and meeting payment deadlinesEnsure timely processing of AP vouchers for month-end and year-end closeManage cash outflows by coordinating weekly and monthly payment cyclesBuild and maintain vendor relationships, responding to inquiries and resolving payment issues quickly to support business continuityReview monthly credit card reconciliations for codingPost invoices for paymentManage year end 1099 preparation and filingContribute to budget preparation and monthly analysis of actual costs to budgetPresent budget and expense information to senior management. Manage accounts payable team including conducting performance reviews, mentoring and promoting a positive team environmentMake recommendations for process improvementPerform other tasks as assignedRequiredOnsite 5 days a week in McLean, VABS Degree in Accounting or Finance7 years of accounts payable experience in the government contracting environmentPrevious management experience preferredStrong communication skills both written and oral are a must. Knowledge of government contract regulations, including FAR, DCAA and other relevant compliance requirementsPreferred hands-on experience and working knowledge of Deltek Time and Expense and Deltek CostPointMust possess highly effective organization and time management skills, and strong decision-making capabilitiesAbility to meet deadlinesDetailed orientated and able to produce quality work without errorsStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Products to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an emphasis on Excel skills. Capable of working in fast-paced environmentThe ability to work flexible/extended hoursSteampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
