Explain procedures appropriate to visit.Triage and prioritize phone calls based on standards of care and best practice. Send telephone encounters to the primary care/on-call clinician.Provide nursing care by using the nursing process and nursing theory in assessing patient’s general condition and in making clinical decisions.Monitor drug therapy and identify drug-related problems such as drug-drug interaction, adverse reactions; take appropriate steps to resolve drug related problems.Administer various therapies such as intravenous antibiotics and iron replacement therapy via a patient vein or peripherally inserted central catheters.Accurately administer medications orally, IM, sub-q and IV.Draw blood for laboratory specimens according to protocol as needed.Communicate patient test results and return phone calls in a timely manner.Triage phone calls and nurse visits for the assigned department. Nurse visits include, but not limited to immunization and therapeutic injections.EducationMeets educational/competency requirements per policy.License(s)/Certification(s)Current Iowa/Illinois/Wisconsin license to practice as a Registered Nurse.CPR certification.Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
