The PriCARE trainer position will assist the Principal Investigator and more senior study staff in activities related to, PriCARE, a parenting intervention for parents of children with behavioral problems. Responsibilities of PriCARE trainer will include the following:Completing training on how to conduct PriCARE parenting training group sessions at CHOPConduct PriCARE parenting training group sessions at CHOP for caregivers of patients aged 18 months-6 years with reported behavioral problemsConduct PriCARE parent training group sessions with foster caregiversParticipate in regular supervision sessionsReview videos of caregivers practicing PriCARE skills with their child and provide individualized feedback and coaching to caregiversParticipate in PriCARE refresher trainings and trainings on updates to the PriCARE modelParticipate in and conduct fidelity monitoring observations. The PriCARE trainer must complete the required training and demonstrate mastery of skills before leading trainings with caregivers.What you will doComplete required PriCARE training and demonstrate mastery of skillsConduct PriCARE parenting training group sessionsParticipate in regular supervision sessions with Sr. PriCARE TrainerProvide individualized coaching to caregivers based on review of skill practice videosParticipate in refresher and update trainingsParticipate in fidelity monitoring observationsEducation QualificationsMaster's Degree - RequiredExperience QualificationsPrevious experience treating at-risk children and parents - Required andExperience and passion for the development of healthy families - RequiredExperience facilitating therapeutic groups - PreferredExperience in urban settings - PreferredSkills and AbilitiesAbility to perform assigned tasks with supervision. (Required proficiency)Excellent interpersonal skills (Required proficiency)Excellent oral and written communication skills (Required proficiency)Strong organizational and time management skills (Required proficiency)Background in child development (Preferred proficiency)Specific knowledge regarding young children (Preferred proficiency)Individuals in this role are or may be required by the hospital system to provide oral language assistance as part of their assigned job responsibilities.Proficiency in speaking and understanding both spoken English and Spanish, including any necessary specialized vocabulary, terminology and phraseology, is defined as the ability to effectively, accurately and appropriately communicate directly with individuals with emerging English proficiency (EEP). roof of proficiency for all Qualified Bilingual Staff may be documented with the Language Services Division by:Achievement of a passing score on an oral language proficiency examination administered by a third-party agency which would include demonstration of the ability to communicate fully and effectively in the language of the test; or, Obtaining a waiver of the examination by submitting documentation of completion of a secondary diploma or higher education degree in a language other than English; or, Providing proof that the candidate has taken the same assessment from the same testing company and the score meets the CHOP standard for passing scores.Note that an individual who meets the definition of Qualified Bilingual Staff is not necessarily qualified to interpret or translate for individuals with emerging English proficiency unless that individual has undergone medical interpreter training and meets state and national requirements for medical interpreters or for interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, as verified by the Language Services Division.To carry out its mission, CHOP is committed to supporting the health of our patients, families, workforce, and global community.
