Duties involve responsibility for independently performing a variety of repair and maintenance tasks of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic equipment and monitoring instruments. General instructions are received regarding work of ordinary difficulty, permitting leeway in planning work details. Detailed instructions are received for new and unusual assignments. The work is performed under supervision of the Maintenance Mechanic III or Chief Maintenance Mechanic with a considerable degree of independence in diagnosing problems and initiating necessary repairs. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate employees assigned to repair and maintenance tasks. Does related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EITHER: A. Graduation from an accredited college or university with at least an Associateu2019s Degree in Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or a closely related field; OR, B.
