Job SummaryThe Maintenance Support Pilot - Rotor Wing will be primarily assigned to a Maintenance Facility to perform pre-induction maintenance flights, post maintenance flights, ground runs and ferry flights as directed by maintenance planning and maintenance leadership. Responsible for ensuring aircraft are airworthy and weather conditions are appropriate to conduct maintenance operational flights and repositioning ferry flights. Responsible for briefing and/or supervising all associated personnel in aircraft operations as applicable. Ensure compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) as applicable, and a thorough knowledge of Air Methods policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring Air Methods aircraft are returned to revenue service fully operational, and capable of performing the air medical mission in accordance with OEM guidelines and supplemental type certificates.Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:Operate all assigned aircraft in a safe and legal manner at all times (100%).Perform Aircraft preservation ground runs.Perform Aircraft post maintenance ground runs.Completes pre-flight before every flight verifying the aircraft is in an airworthy condition. Perform a complete walk around of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.Perform Aircraft post maintenance test flights for RTS (Return To Service) per OEM and regulatory requirementsFerry aircraft as directed.Responsible for ensuring all aircraft systems and installed equipment are airworthy and operationally functional when released for revenue service.Final authority with regard to operations of aircraft and for the safety of crew, passengers, cargo and equipment.Responsible for complying with PIC duties and responsibilities in the Air Methods GOM.Perform other duties as assignedAdditional Job RequirementsRegular scheduled attendanceIndicate the percentage of time spent traveling: > 50%Subject to applicable laws and Air Method’s policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position. QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
