Listed on London Stock Exchange; Member of the FTSE 250 Index.As a Senior Material Scientist, you will help to develop, test, and characterize ceramic formulations for injection molding applications. In this role, you will work closely with our PA Material Control Lab on raw material selection, develop new, or improve on existing ceramic core materials, develop processing and design solutions to meet our customer needs, guide junior engineers and technicians, and transfer / scale up new technologies to a production environment.Essential Functions:Support the definition and planning of technology development programs aligned with our Technology RoadmapDevelop material and process solutions to support manufacturing/customer needsDesign, organize and carry out material development, production and processing trials at laboratory, pilot and production scales.Assess, analyze and interpret development results, adapting and iterating project activities to achieve the desired outcomes within an optimized timescale.Understand and apply statistical process controlSupervise engineer’s and/or technician’s workInterface with operations, sales and technology teams to ensure seamless execution in meeting goalsInteract with suppliers and customers when necessaryWrite a technical report at the end of each project, with regular updates during developmentAssist in specifying and selecting equipment and material purchases related to ceramics processingSupport and enhance the company’s commitment to the highest standards of Health and Safety and ensure all policies are adhered to during the work day.PhD in Ceramics, Material Science or related field with a minimum of 5 years experience. Experience in the manufacturing of ceramic components. Experience with silica is a plus.The ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the progress of the companyIndividual must be a Citizen of the United States or Permanent resident alien of the United StatesMust be authorized to permanently work in the United StatesKnowledge in material testing and micro-structure analysisGood working knowledge of statisticsExcellent report writing and communication skillsThe ability to communicate with customers and all personnel is essentialAbility to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervisionLimited travel, including international travel, may be requiredAbility to work in an interdisciplinary, multicultural teamExperience with Design of Experiments / 6 Sigma training preferredExperience with injection molding is a plusMorgan Advanced Materials is an EEO/AA/M/W/D/V Employer Ind-1
