Benefits may vary based on state law.We currently have an opening for a full-time Medical Assistant to join our Portland, OR team. The Medical Assistant supports the medical and nursing staff in providing care to infants, toddlers, preschool-age, adolescent, and young adult patients during outpatient clinics by performing routine clerical tasks. Gathers information during the Intake process that assists the medical staff in diagnosing and treating patients. Information obtained includes patient history, heights and weights, vitals, allergies, medications, previous procedures, etc. Assists with cast applications and removals.Schedule: Full-time M-F (in-person)Holidays: 9 observed holidays per yearCompensation range: The hired applicant's placement within the range is based onyears of experience and departmental equity.Performs all aspects of direct patient care according to current Outpatient Clinic 'Standards of Care.' Documents interventions per policy & listsObtains and graphs patient's weight, height, arm span, and head circumference according to Outpatient Clinic 'Growth Chart Graphing '(Plotting) competency checklist.Lab work completed the same day ordered.Reviews new patient assessments according to Outpatient Clinic 'Health History and New Patient Assessment'. Uses good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients/families and referral to RN as neededSafely removing casts, cleans patient, covers affected limb and instructs family on skin carePrepares for clinic by chart review; organizes clinic flow, follow-up with appropriate paperwork, packs for outreaches. Staffs specific Outreach Clinic per policyNote: This is not an all inclusive list of this job's responsibilities.
