The Data Center Engineering Operations Technician (EOT) are Amazonu2019s front line responders for hands-on electrical and mechanical equipment troubleshooting and operation. This equipment includes, but is not limited to, stand-by diesel generators, switchboards/switchgears, UPSs, PDUs, AHUs, pumps, motors, VFDs, and building automation systems. They provide 24/7 shift coverage which could include 12 hour shifts, rotating shifts, 3, 4, or 5 day work weeks. This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess an active Top Secret security clearance. The position further requires that, after start, the selected candidate obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph and satisfy other security related requirements. Key job responsibilities u00b7 Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical, mechanical, emergency generator, and fire/life safety equipment within the data center u00b7 Troubleshoot of facility and rack-level events within internal SLAs u00b7 Perform limited maintenance tasks to including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements u00b7 Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians. u00b7 Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures u00b7 Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work. u00b7 Work a 12 hour shift (rotating 3 and 4 day work weeks days or nights). u00b7 Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment through routine rounds/log taking (temperatures, voltages, currents, etc.). u00b7 Utilize internal CMMS to manage building workflows and spare part inventory. u00b7 Supervise contractors who perform servicing or preventive maintenance. u00b7 Respond to off hour emergency calls per on call rotation for any one of the regionu2019s sites. u00b7 Fully comply with all physical security procedures and policies. u00b7 Drive innovation while reducing operational costs in the facilities. u00b7 Manipulate small wires and objects. u00b7 Perform the following tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation: - Walk job sites in uneven terrain - Work in extreme climates - Work at heights and from ladders - Regularly lift and/or move up to 39 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 40 pounds or more - Bend or twist the body into unusual positions while working - Push or pull heavy objects into position - Work in noisy environments About the team Amazon Web Services (AWS) is the worldu2019s most comprehensive and broadly adopted cloud platform. The base pay for this position ranges from $59,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $133,200/year in our highest geographic market.
